Asbestos Training

ASBESTOS - CLASS IV
Code: Asbestos - Class IV
Course Name: Class IV - Awareness
Hours: 2 - 4 hours
Required by: Cal-OSHA, Title 8, CCR 1529 (K) Training
Who Should Attend: Class IV “Worker Training” is designed for maintenance and custodial related occupations which employees contact but do not disturb Asbestos Containing Material or Presumed Asbestos Containing Material, and activities of dust clean-up, waste and debris resulting from either an abatement project of small scale or maintenance activities that do disturb asbestos.
Recertification or Refresher Required: Yes - Yearly (the entire two-hour class needs to be repeated)

ASBESTOS - CLASS III (8)

Course Name: Class III
Hours: 8 hours
Required by: Cal-OSHA, Title 8, CCR 1529 (K) Training
Who Should Attend: Class III “Worker Training” is designed for repair and maintenance operations, where Asbestos Containing Material (including Thermal System Insulation and surfacing Asbestos Containing Material and Presumed Asbestos Containing Material) may be disturbed.
Recertification or Refresher Required: Yes - Yearly (a refresher required)

ASBESTOS - CLASS III (16)

Course Name: Class III - Competent Person
Hours: 16 hours
Required by: Cal-OSHA, Title 8, CCR 1529 (K) Training
Who Should Attend: Class III “Competent Person” worker training is designed for employees that oversee asbestos projects on behalf of an owner or property management company for work involving full abatement or a Class III clean-up where the operations could exceed the Permissible Exposure Limit. This would normally be a select group of maintenance staff personnel or mid-level management who need to send out bid requestes for abatement contractors. At least one person per company should attend.
Recertification or Refresher Required: Yes - Yearly (refresher class needs to be repeated)
