Who Should Attend: This section applies to all occupational exposure to blood or other potentially infectious materials: Blood means human blood, human blood components, and products made from human blood. Blood Borne Pathogens means pathogenic microorganisms that are present in human blood and can cause disease in humans. These pathogens include, but are not limited to, hepatitis B virus (HBV) and human immunodeficiency virus (HIV).

Workers in hospitals, convalescent homes, health care facilities or buildings/residences involved with hospice care that may become in proximity with spilled fluids, fluid containers, needles/sharps or an environment where tissues or air may become exposed to illnesses.
Recertification or Refresher Required: Initial Certificate Only
Class Profile:
  • The course has 72 slides and the handouts printed on 12 pages.
  • There will be hands on tools and example information.
  • The course is four hours long with a written quiz that will be graded.
  • A certificate of completion will be given to each student.
  • There will be a minimum of 12 students and a maximum of 20 students per class.
