Discovering that we had toxic mold in our home was frightening, and could have been potentially devastating. Benchmark moved quickly to give us exact information, as soon as possible, making it easier for us to move forward with the clean up and reconstruction.

Benchmark is presently under a two-year contract with the SFHA to provide hazardous materials support. Benchmark is a very responsive company and is considered a valued consultant to the San Francisco Housing Authority.

I would like to acknowledge the lead-based inspection services Benchmark has provided our department since September 2006. As we begin the New Year I wanted you to know that the cooperation and working relationship we have established is very much appreciated and we are looking forward to working with you and your staff.

For more than 10 years, I have had the pleasure of working with Benchmark Environmental Engineering on several projects related to indoor air quality throughout the San Francisco Bay Area. Typically, these projects include asbestos, lead, and/mold sampling and recommendation writing. However, many of the projects have involved unique challenges, such as -aldehyde sampling and data interpretation, deodorization techniques for severe odor contamination and expert consultation for contents remediation.

On a typical project, one of Benchmark’s highly trained staff comes to the location, meets with the building owner, tenant(s) and/or restoration contractor, collects all of the pertinent data, assesses and reviews the history, needs and requirements of the project and any pertinent paperwork. After carefully examining the details of the project, they keep me informed throughout the review period and write an easy-to-read report of their findings.

I appreciate Bryan, Wendy and their entire staff. Rob, Gerrardo, and Terri all have excellent communication skills and attention to detail. They return my calls and email correspondences quickly and at all hours of the day. Through Christine and Julie, their office staff is also attentive to my needs and responsive to my inquiries. I would not hesitate to recommend Benchmark Environmental Engineering on any restoration or remediation evaluation project.

The Housing Industry Foundation believes that one renovation project can make a difference. HIF's renovation program is possible because of companies like yours that are committed to giving back to the neighborhoods in which they operate. Our renovation program leverages housing industry partners' contributions to restore non-profit housing facilities at no cost to the shelter, allowing the non-profit to focus its resources on vital services for our community1s most vulnerable members.

The renovation at Unity Care, which serves over 7,500 Bay Area foster youth and families annually through 24 unique programs and delivers culturally proficient and trauma-informed services, demonstrates what is possible when organizations join together for the purpose of building a strong and resilient community. We could not be more grateful for your participation. Thanks to you, as well as volunteers from the Prometheus Real Estate Group who contributed numerous hours to the project, we were able to accomplish significant repairs to the property including full exterior paint, exterior lighting, new landscaping and irrigation system, new flooring, folding tables, water heater and washer in the laundry room.

On behalf of the Housing Industry Foundation Board of Directors, we would like to extend a heartfelt thank you for your in-kind contribution in the amount of $690.00. Your gift will go a long way in providing an uplifting environment for the young adults living at Unity Place.

Once again, on behalf of Samaritan House and the community they serve, thank you for your role in making this renovation project a huge success.
