The Asbestos Class III Refresher is to be taken every year after your initial 2-day class III course. You will have needed to complete the initial course in order to take this refresher. You will also need to make sure you obtain an updated fit-test on your respirator after you finish the online class. This training is required by all employees who perform maintenance work that disturb or has the potential to disturb asbestos. This is an on-demand online class that you can take online from any computer with internet access.

Class III “Competent Person” worker training is designed for employees that oversee asbestos projects on behalf of an owner or property management company for work involving full abatement or a Class III clean-up where the operations could exceed the Permissible Exposure Limit. This would normally be a select group of maintenance staff personnel or mid-level management who need to send out bid requests for abatement contractors. At least one person per company should attend.

Class IV “Worker Training” is designed for maintenance and custodial-related occupations in which employees contact but do not disturb Asbestos Containing Material or Presumed Asbestos Containing Material, and activities of dust clean-up, waste, and debris resulting from either an abatement project of small scale or maintenance activities that do disturb asbestos.
